Cobden Twenty20 Vision Project
The Cobden 2020 Vision Project team has been set up by Progressing Cobden as a Special Project team to gather information from the community, develop an understanding of what is important to the community between now and 2020, and then develop an Action Plan to move to the Twenty20 Vision.
Here's what's happened to date:
Questionnaires have been issued and collected and the responses have been collated.
a Community Forum was held on Tuesday 31 August at 7pm in the Civic Hall. Around 50 people representing a broad range of community interests attended.
Rachel Donovan from Insight Communications led the Forum through the findings from the survey, and then small groups formed to talk about the key issues from the seven broad topics - Infrastructure; Services & Facilities; Tourism; Economic Development; Education, Training & Employment; Volunteers and Organisations; and Town Appearance.
Feedback from the groups was collated and then everyone was given the chance to put their priority ranking on 3 of the suggested areas.
Rachel and the Project team have reviewed these priorities and formulated them into a draft Action Plan which has been subjected to a further community review.
Action Teams have been formed and are meeting and developing specific actions in their areas.
Corangamite Shire has provided $60000 towards the implementation of the Action Plans
The process is working well. It represents a real opportunity for the community to take ownership of where we are heading and how we want to get there. The community has had its say and is now implementing the outcomes.
